Premiere for cello concerto L’AMOUR CONVULSIF at KMH, Stockholm APRIL 25

This new piece is written for the same ensemble as Pierre Boulez’ Memoriale, but with the cello as soloist. The title refers to the original work’s references to André Bretons L’amour fou: "La beauté convulsive sera érotique-voilée, explosante-fixe, magique-circonstancielle, ou ne sera pas" (Convulsive beauty will be erotic-veiled, exploding-fixed, magical-circumstantial, or it will not be at all). Part of the material in this new cello piece is the seven-note row that Boulez used in ... explosante - fixe ..., originally created as an emblem composed fo the Stravinsky memorial.

EXPECTANS MITES for soprano, mezzo-soprano and organ (2022) - World PREMIERE JULY 2024
Expectans mites will be premiered July 1 in Lund Cathedral by the amazing singers Julia Sporsén (sop), Matilda Paulsson (mezzo) and the young brilliant organist Johannes Skoog. Following concerts in Helsingborg July 4 and in St Johannes Church August 25 in Malmö.
Expectans mites (Awaiting the meek) is an oratoric scene based on texts from the Bible/Mass, Wagner's Tristan und Isolde and the 1990's indie band Union Carbide Productions' song Golden Age – three texts from three different times in history about the path towards light and humility. Libetto by the composer.

LEBEN UND DIE EWIGKEIT DES AUGENBLICKS for piano quartet (2023)
Nominated to ISCM 2024, this is a piece composed with Brahms in mind: starting off in the echo of the last phrase of his piano quintet, this work continues restlessly, with Brahms references such as Gestillte Sehnsucht as well as an hybrid of Bachian choral prelude and Ligeti's micro polyphony. The title, paraphrasing a quote by Heiner Müller about Peter Weiß, suggests the opposing single, eternity-like moment, appearing towards the end of this otherwise lively piece. There can be heard the distant sound of the last music Brahms left behind – O Welt, ich muß dich lassen from his choral preludes, before it gets blurred out in the thrusting end.

AN ATTEMPT AT TIME for string quartet and piano (2021)
Partly inspired by Alberto Burri’s textually contrasting art work, this contemplative yet dramatic piece reflects on the fact that time is incessantly passing. An attempt to leave behind a life lived through memories or dreams of the future, an attempt to accept the past and aging – an attempt at time.
